There really is something a bit magical about Noosa. It’s a beautiful destination that offers something for everyone.
If you’re planning a visit to Noosa anytime soon, here are 20 fabulous things you might like to do while you’re there.
Places to stay in Noosa
Hastings Street is the main street of Noosa. It’s where the beach and a lot of accommodation is located. Staying in this part of Noosa can be on the pricey side, particularly during the Christmas/New Year period.
Booking at off-peak times or when special rates are on offer will definitely help ease the accommodation pain.
Staying a bit further afield, rather in Hastings Street itself, will also save a few dollars. You might struggle to find a car park in Hastings Street and the surrounding area, especially during the summer months. But if you’re planning on doing a few day trips, staying outside of Noosa could be the perfect solution for you.
We prefer to get to Noosa and not go anywhere else. Over the years we’ve stayed at several of the hotels on Hastings Street. Here are my faves:
- Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort (previously known as The Sheraton Noosa)
- The Sebel Noosa
- Seahaven Noosa
- Fairshore Noosa, booked through Accom Noosa.

Places to shop in Noosa
Hastings Street
There’s everything from beautiful homewares stores to surf shops located along Hastings Street. If shopping is your thing, you will love spending a couple of hours wandering through the stores on Hastings Street.
Some of my favourites include
- Signature on Hastings for beautiful homewares and gifts.
- Augustine for colourful fashion pieces by NZ designer Kelly Coe.
- Lamington for quirky gifts, homewares and handmade jewellery.
- Noosa Heads Pharmacy for emergency supplies (aqua ear and sunscreen top ups were required) and a fantastic hat selection – I finally managed to find a hat to fit my enormous head!
- Jo Jo Noosa for gorgeous boho inspired fashion.
Noosa Junction
Just a short 3 minute drive from Hastings Street is Noosa Junction. A hidden gem that visitors to Noosa don’t tend to discover, making the drive (or 20 minute walk – up hill) to Noosa Junction is definitely worth it.
There are plenty of stores to wander through at Noosa Junction. Some of my favourites are:
- I Cherry Shoe for gorgeous shoes, beautiful leather handbags and accessories
- Lou Lou (a gorgeous boutique with a lovely range of bamboo clothing) and
- Casa Noosa Interiors (brimming with classical coastal pieces)

Walk to the Fairy Pools
The Fairy Pools are located within the Noosa National Park.
It takes roughly 40 minutes to walk to them. Once you reach the Fairy Pools, this is the view you will be met with.
For detailed information about the Fairy Pools, head to Wild Swimming Australia.
Wander down to the tree at night
Located on the roundabout at the entrance to Hastings Street, a stroll down to the tree at night is a must do.
Hit the beach!
Of course you can’t go to Noosa without going to the beach!
Remember to always swim between the flags and apply plenty of sunscreen. The lifeguards and your skin will thank you for doing so.
