It’s my birthday on Sunday and I’ll be 43 years old. I KNOW #SOFREAKINGOLD
When I was in my last year of my 30’s I was so anxious about turning 40. It seemed SO OLD. I mean I can remember when my parents turned 40 and they were SO OLD! Surely I can’t be that old too?!
But then my friends who were in their 40’s were all, “Oh it’s the best decade!” and “You will LOVE being in your 40s!” and my personal favourite, “40 is the new 20!”
Really? Because when I was 20 I was basically doing nothing but going to uni, buying new clothes every week and getting hammered every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights on $1 drinks at Mary St and $4 jugs of beer at Her Majesties #goodtimes
Fast forward to my 40’s and a couple of Friday nights ago Guns said to me, “What would you like to do tonight?”
I turned to him and laughed, “You’re asking me that like we have options!”
His reply? “Of course we have options. We can either watch a movie on Foxtel or Apple TV. Which one would you like?”
Call me crazy but that does not sound like 40 is the new 20!
But my 40’s have taught me a lot in three short years and today I thought I’d share a few of those things with you.
