Yesterday I shared a photo on Instagram and Facebook of a gorgeous pair of earrings I received from the kids for Mother’s Day.
You can find the photo on Insta here or Facebook here. We’ll wait for you to come back, promise.
I was putting the earrings away – into a jewellery box that isn’t really designed to hold drop style earrings – when it occurred to me that there must be a better storage solution.
Naturally I turned to the only reliable and reputable sources of online information to answer this burning question – Facebook and Pinterest.
5 clever ways to store your earrings
It turns out that 11.30am Brisbane time is 100% the wrong time to ask a question about earring storage on Facebook. Nobody will answer.
Actually that’s not entirely true. There were a couple of awesome answers that rolled in a couple of hours later.
{edited sometime later: after I’d hit publish on this post, the answers kept rolling in and they’re all brilliant. You can read them here.
So how did I go over on Pinterest? Great question, thanks for asking.
Pinterest answered my ‘earring storage’ search in approximately 2.3 seconds, which I have to say, was very helpful.
It was also slightly overwhelming. Apparently the DIY factor is high when it comes to earring storage.
There seems to be A LOT of chicken wire in frames involved and it will probably help if you have the time to duck down to your local Bunnings for a can or two of spray paint. And maybe some pliers. Whatever they are.
Anyway, here are 5 clever ways to store your earrings. They all look easy enough to do, especially the ice-cube tray idea.
Although then what would you use for ice in your gin? Asking for a friend, obviously.
