Jeans with stretch would have to be one of my favourite fashion inventions.
Whoever thought to add 2% elastane to the denim mix is a GENIUS.
Thanks to that clever combination, women around the world can now do things they never could before in their jeans.
We can now breathe while wearing our jeans with stretch – thanks stretchy waist band!
We can now bend at the knee while wearing our jeans with stretch AND we can take off our skinny jeans without dislocating a limb.
It’s a comfort revolution, people! A comfort revolution!

6 of the best jeans with stretch for every shape and size
I wear jeans almost everyday. They’re a staple in my wardrobe and I can spot an elastane laced pair quicker than you can say, “Do they have those in my size?”
I’ve also been pretty much every double-digit size you can think of during my adult life.
And believe it or not, when it comes to clothes, the struggle to find the right anything is real for most women, regardless of what size they are.
But size is just a number and as I’ve said before, the only people who should be worrying about numbers are accountants. Particularly at tax time.
As for the rest of us, we should embrace our current size and our shape.
If you haven’t already, jump on board the denim with stretch train. It’s comfortable, relaxed and available to everyone.
1. Supersoft Premium Skinny Jean: Crossroads, sizes 8-22
I love these jeans so much I raved about them on the Kirsten and co. Facebook page the day after I bought them.
They are everything a pair of jeans with stretch should be – comfortable, flattering and the perfect fit for those of us who are short-waisted. Definitely worth a try on!
2. Curve Embracer Jeans: Jeans West, sizes 6-16
I bought two pairs of these jeans during a recent Jeans West sale. I’d heard such great things about the Curve Embracer but unfortunately they didn’t suit my body shape, so back they went.
They do however, look AMAZING on Andrea from Sublime Finds. Have a look at Andrea’s blog post and if you’re a similar body shape, the curve embracer are the jeans for you.
3. Highrise Skinny Short Asha Jean: City Chic, sizes 14-24
When I was a solid size 16 – catch up on that story here – City Chic was my go-to destination for denim. They do such a great fit for curves and their signature high waist is a universally flattering cut.
4. 5 Pocket Jean: Katies, sizes 8-20
These have been on high rotation since I purchased them several months ago. They’re ridiculously comfortable, have a good skinny leg shape and haven’t faded after being thrown in the wash more times than I can count.
5. Distressed Skinny Jean: Bohemian Traders, sizes 24-38
I invested in a pair of these distressed skinnies from Bohemian Traders last year – they’re featured in this how to wear skinny jeans post.
It’s now well over 12 months later and they’re still going strong. They’re an extremely flattering style and well worth a look.
6. Full Length Go To Jean: Rockmans, sizes 8-20
Rockmans are another favourite of mine. They love a good denim with stretch situation and offer various styles and sizes.
New to jeans with stretch?
If you are new to the denim elastane combo, there’s one key thing to consider – size.
Often the stretch factor will result in your jeans becoming baggy or loose as you wear them throughout the day.
My advice? They need to feel snug when you try them on.
If they feel loose, they’re too big. Please pop them back on the hanger and grab the next size down.
If you’re ordering online, check the sizing guide and read any reviews that might be available. That will give you a good indication of what size to order.
Finally, keep an eye out for sales. All of the brands I’ve mentioned in the post have sales on a regular basis – often up to 40% off.
Is there a pair or two of jeans with stretch in your life? Do you have a favourite brand to share with us?
