I don’t know about you but I love a good statement earring.

Although it hasn’t always been that way. I mean I loved seeing gorgeous oversized earrings on other people, but on me? Not so much.

I don’t wear a lot of jewellery – necklaces kind of irritate me and waving an armful of bangles around is pretty much a hazard for anyone standing nearby.

I mean I’m clumsy enough as it is. I don’t think we need to be adding extra moving weight to that situation, no matter how lovely the bangles or bracelets might look.

When it comes to earrings, a pair of studs is usually my preference. But in the last 12 months or so that has changed.

Statement earrings are everywhere and I’m loving them. They bring instant glam to any outfit and are available in a huge range of styles and price points.

1. Keep other jewellery minimal

Think of your statement earrings as the hero piece of your outfit. They’re the star of the show and don’t really want anything else becoming the main attraction.

2. Embrace texture and colour

If you’re just getting started with statement earrings, ease into things by matching the colour palette of your earrings with your outfit.

When you’re feeling brave enough, choose a pair of earrings that add a contrasting pop of colour or texture to your outfit. You’ll be surprised at how fabulous it looks!

3. Bust them out during the day

Don’t save your gorgeous earrings for a special occasion or a night out. You can absolutely rock these during the day. Just keep everything else minimal and you’re good to go.

4. Try a new hair style

A ponytail, up do or gently pulled back at the sides is a great way to show off your statement earrings. But if you really want to up your statement earring game, why not try the opposite of your usual hair style?

If your hair is straight, throw some curls in there. If it’s curly, run a straightener through it. You’ll have a fresh new look in no time!
