Christmas is on its way and I for one am freaking out. You see I’m in a Facebook home decorating group and so many people in that group have their Christmas trees up already.
Their houses are beautiful decorated with all sorts of gorgeous Christmas themed items.
Meanwhile I’m all, that looks amazing but I’ve still got the tacky Halloween themed plastic bowl I bought from the local $2 shop last month sitting on the floor of my pantry to deal with! Do I keep, donate or bin it? It was only $2 but I only used once. The struggle is real.
Sophie’s birthday is a few days before Christmas and because everyone is right into all things Santa around that time, we always have her birthday party at the end of November. That way she gets to celebrate with her school friends AND has another smaller celebration with us on her actual birthday, so I guess it’s not all bad!
Anyway, my point of all of that is, we don’t do anything remotely Christmas related around here until after Sophie’s birthday party is done and dusted. So basically, we’re a bit old school and pretty much wait until December 1st to whack up the Christmas tree.
