So here’s the thing. You know how I love fashion and really love to shop? Well, I have a small confession to make. Online shopping isn’t usually for me. I KNOW. I am just as shocked as you are by that little chestnut!
There’s a couple of reasons why I prefer instore shopping to online shopping and it’s pretty much because of my own hang ups. You see I’m a curvy size 14, sometimes a 16 depending on which shop I’m in. I’ve got your typical hourglass shape and I’m not really that tall (165cm), so trying to choose clothes that are going to fit and flatter my shape without trying them on first is, well, kind of mission impossible. Until now.
Adrift offers beautiful women’s boho, beachy styles, including clothing, accessories and homewares across their three Brisbane based boutiques and online store. Their clothing range is designed for the everyday mum (that would be me!) to express herself in bright and beautiful colours and fabrics.
As soon as I discovered that the gorgeous pieces available from the Adrift online store come in a wide range of sizes from 8 through to 20 AND there’s an easy return/exchange process should the sizing or style not be suitable, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and indulge in a little bit of online shopping!
After a lengthy scroll through Adrfit’s online shelves, I decided on the Acapulco Short Kaftan* in Ocean:
The soft, flowing style of this particular kaftan, together with the batwing sleeve and adjustable drawstring under the bust (featuring a super cute tassel) caught my eye straight away. I knew it would be a flattering style for my shape and I loved that it was made of 100% cotton gauze (hello lightweight, breathable fabric!)
I loved the fresh, vibrant colours of the fabric and thought it would be the perfect outfit to wear while clocking up some serious poolside hours this Spring!
So I had a quick look at the sizing chart and ordered myself a size Large/Extra Large. I then spent the next few days completely obsessing over the sizing (What if it was too big? What if it was too small? What if it didn’t suit me? What if I looked completely ridiculous in the photos?) but I needn’t have wasted so much time and energy on worrying about such silly things.
My order was sent out in record speed and when I opened the hot pink tissue it was wrapped in, I knew online shopping was for me!
The fit was perfect, the fabric is gorgeous and the navy blue beads* Adrift kindly included were a fantastic match.
