I don’t know about you, but I love fruit based desserts. I don’t make them very often, mainly because I’m married to a sugar addict who, in the 20 years that we’ve been together, has eaten a piece of fruit twice. I KNOW. How he manages to keep those guns in check while living on nothing but coca cola, mars bars and full fat milk is a complete mystery to me too.
Meanwhile, I just have to walk past a bakery and BAM! That will be 2 kilos added to your rear end, thanks very much for visiting.
But back to the cobbler. I based this Berry Cobbler Recipe very loosely on a Martha Stewart Blueberry Crisp recipe I found over on pinterest. Martha’s recipe called for 4,372 kilos of sugar* which was roughly 4,371 kilos too many for me, so I dropped it down to a few tablespoons. The end result was quite a tart, almost sour cobbler, which my taste buds love but yours might not. So just play around with the sugar amounts until you find an amount that suits you.
*may be a slight exaggeration, but just like my mum, I never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
[yumprint-recipe id=’21’]Done any baking lately? Got a partner addicted to sugar? Or maybe you’ve just walked past a bakery and now your pants are tighter too. Feel free to share your story in the comments section below ๐
