So on the weekend I threw a very small cocktail party to celebrate my 41st birthday. Four of my girlfriends came over and we enjoyed an afternoon of sipping on various cocktails that Guns made for us, while chatting, laughing and reminiscing. It was a lot of fun and well worth the thumping headache I was forced to endure the next day. Never one to do things by halves, I put together a little drinks table with all the essentials safely in one place. You know, to make it easier for Guns to refill our glasses. Because I’m nothing if not thoughtful. Here’s what I came up with…
Now can we just take a moment to discuss those beautiful flowers. Megan, who is a regular reader of the blog, contacted me a couple of weeks ago to let me know that she is a qualified florist and current stay at home mum who is keen to get back into creating beautiful floral arrangements for birthdays, weddings etc and was wondering if she could design a bouquet of flowers for my next event? Why yes, yes she could.
Megan asked me what colour scheme I had in mind, I told her and BAM! This beautiful bouquet of pink flowers was hand delivered by Megan a few hours before the birthday celebrations kicked off. To say I was pleased with what she had put together would be a huge understatement. The arrangement was absolutely stunning, so creative and the colours were perfect. If you live in Brisbane and need a florist, you can get in touch with Megan via email or her Instagram page.
The gorgeous champagne bucket was purchased from The White Shed , while the hot pink straws were part of a very thoughtful gift sent to me from Confetti and Cake owner, Justine, after I’d written her a letter.
The cute little hot pink tea light candle was purchased during my *ahem* shopping duties as an Official DFO Blogger , while everything else on the table was already sitting in my cupboard. I made the ‘Make Mine A Double’ sign myself and once I can figure out how, I’ll add it to the blog as a free download. Stand by for that one. It could take me a while.
And that my friends, is another birthday done. Thanks to my lovely girlfriends for a great night and special thanks to the migraine strength packet of nurofen that got me through the next day!
