On Thursday I flew down to Sydney to attend the Bloggers Brunch the next day. I was only in Sydney for 24 hours, so I travelled light and packed the essentials:
It was a whirlwind 24 hours, involving a stay on Wisteria Lane (aka Woogsworld HQ), an epic SEO related cab ride and a lot of networking at the actual event.
For those not in the know, Kids Business Communications hosts the Bloggers BrunchTM series of events where bloggers and brands meet and mingle. These events also raise awareness and funds for different charities. For more information, head to their website.
There were also a couple of guest speakers at the event, including Jo-Ann Hicks from The Nappy Collective.
The Nappy Collective collects leftover unused disposable nappies and redistributes them to organisations that support families in crisis or in need. I loved listening to Jo-Ann’s speech and I thought her quote of “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone” was brilliant.
Nappies are a basic healthcare need and lack of sufficient nappies can lead to an array of problems for disadvantaged families. So when you donate your spare nappies, you help these families to focus more of their time and energy on getting their lives back on track.
If you have any leftover nappies, sitting in draws, at the bottom of your nappy bag, in the back of a cupboard at the grandparents’ house, head over to the Nappy Collective’s website to find out more about how they can be redistributed to organisations who support families in crisis or in need.
Please note: This post was written in exchange for a flight allowance from the team at Kids Business, which covered part of the cost of my airfares to and from Sydney.
