I’ve had this idea to host an event swirling around in my head for quite some time now. And finally, I’ve taken the leap and organised one.
A few months ago Scott and I were having breakfast at Cafe Grenadine in Martha Street, Camp Hill. It’s a gorgeous little cafe with a welcoming vibe, delicious food and beautiful decor.
As I sat there taking in the surroundings, I looked at Scott and said, “You know this would be the perfect venue for a reader event. I could call it Coffee With Kirsten. Of course there would have to be champagne involved too, but how gorgeous is this place? It feels just like the blog – a place where everyone is welcome. I wonder if the owner is here? I think I need to speak with her, him, ASAP!”
And quicker than you could say “Instagram Husband” I was off to find the owner.
Turns out Marilyn, the cafe owner, was there and here we are today ready to launch the very first Coffee With Kirsten. Hooray!
When is it?
Saturday 5 November, 2 – 4.30pm
Where is it?
Cafe Grenadine, 54 Martha St, Camp Hill.
What is it?
It’s going to be a fun afternoon full of delicious food and a lot of laughs all while raising vital funds for The Pyjama Foundation.
This organisation offers a Love of Learning program to children in foster care. Community volunteers – called ‘Pyjama Angels’ – are screened, trained and matched with a child. They visit the child each week to read books aloud, play educational games and engage in other learning-based activities.
How much are the tickets?
Tickets are $50 per person and include:
- A glass of champagne on arrival.
- A delicious and completely instagramable afternoon tea including your choice of tea or barista style coffee (please email me with any dietary requirements upon purchasing your ticket.)
- I will be presenting a workshop, showing you how to find the fabulous that’s hidden not only in your wardrobe but also within yourself.
- Nicole from popular interiors blog, The Builder’s Wife will join me for a fun Q&A session (Yes, you can ask us pretty much anything) and show you how easy it is to put together a beautiful vignette using items you already have in your home.
Do I need to be a blogger to attend?
Not at all! Think of this event as catching up with a group of girlfriends for the afternoon. You definitely don’t need to have a blog or be a blogger to attend.
What do I bring?
Your sense of humour – we are going to have some FUN!
Your phone and/or camera – you’ll want to Instagram all the things!
Your kindness – Coffee with Kirsten proudly supports The Pyjama Foundation. Raffle tickets will be for sale during the event with fabulous prizes up for grabs.
