So a few weeks ago I posted this pic on Instagram and Facebook of some budget friendly home office storage solutions I picked up at my local Lincraft store:
This haul of hot pink and black storage goodness came in at a grand total of $22.65 and together with a few other items I picked up at good old Kmart and IKEA, this is what I did with it…
Now I don’t know about you, but my heart rate instantly lowers every time I look at that colour co-ordinated organisation. Although I have to say that the bottom shelf is irritating me no end, with it’s mis-matched photo albums, so that’ll be the next little project to be added to my to-do list.
This storage unit sits in my study/home office, where I do all of my blogging, so of course I had to choose storage items that were in keeping with the blog’s colour scheme.
For those of you playing along at home, here are all the budget friendly home office storage details:
Shelving Unit:
149×149 white EXPEDIT shelving unit from IKEA $139
Top Shelf:
- Pink trays and magazine holders purchased from Lincraft (entire range is currently 50% off. Black and aqua also available. Please note, the Victoria Point store may or may not have had their shelves cleared of all pink items by some mad woman on a storage mission!)
- Black and clear pull out storage file purchased from Kmart $17 each
- My Bills and My Important Documents folders purchased several years ago from Kikki K
- Black and Pink/Black and Green lever arch folders purchased last year from Officeworks $4.99 each
- Gorgeous crocheted heart bunting a very thoughtful gift from the lovely Beth who blogs over at Achoo You
Second Shelf:
- Pink magazine holders purchased from Lincraft
- Black storage boxes purchased from Kmart, sold in a set of two (one large box, as shown on this shelf, + one smaller box, as shown on the top of the storage unit, for $5 a set)
- Project Life kit purchased from Spotlight
Third Shelf:
- Black DRONA storage boxes purchased from IKEA last year, $4.99 each
Bottom Shelf:
- Large KASSETT storage boxes purchased from IKEA last year, $14.99/2 pack
- Various photo albums purchased over the years.
All up, I spent $109 on new storage items from Lincraft (everything pink) and Kmart (everything black). Everything else used were items I already had, including the storage unit itself.
So tell me, do you have a home office? And is it colour co-ordinated in hot pink and black, or is that just me?
