You know that feeling when you’re looking forward to an event because you just know it’s going to be all sorts of fabulous? You’re excited and nervous and a little bit impatient because you really want the day to hurry up and get here so the fun can begin!
That’s how I felt leading up to the lunch I attended last Saturday to celebrate two years of #everydaystyle with Nikki from Styling You.
Wearing: Akin by Ginger and Smart Languid Jumpsuit
Shoes: Rise Nude by Zoe Kraztmann
both purchased from Ollie & Lloyd at Gasworks, Brisbane
Held on the pool deck of my favourite Brisbane hotel, The Hilton, Nikki and her assistant, Alisha, didn’t disappoint with the lengths they went to ensure the afternoon went off without a hitch.
The drinks were flowing, the food was fabulous (thank you Olympus!) and the company was wonderful.
There were thoughtful place settings for each guest featuring a clever thank you card and gorgeous note book and clutch from Louenhide.
How gorgeous is the hot pink clutch?! Safe to say it will be on high rotation in my wardrobe this festive season. Thank you Louenhide.
Even the food was stylish!
During lunch we were treated to a lesson in how to pose for photos and hold accessories (not as easy as it sounds) by professional model, Simone. I learned so much during that fun session, so stand by for my #everydaystyle photos on Instagram to become slightly less awkward in the days and weeks ahead.
There was also a raffle, where every guest won a prize.
I was lucky enough to come home with a gorgeous accessory pack from Australian plus size fashion brand Harlow, which included their gorgeous gold ‘Heartbreaker’ ring, All Wrapped Up Belt and a $50 voucher to spend! Thank you Harlow. All three items are very much appreciated and are so my style!
During lunch I sat with a gorgeous group of women, most of whom I hadn’t met before, yet we chatted away about all sorts of things. After lunch I caught up with some familiar faces and thought how awesome social media is at bringing like-minded people together.

Not everybody at the #everydaystyle event has a blog, but we all join in with the hashtag action that Nikki created on Instagram 2 years ago.
And now, 2 years and thousands of outfit photos later, a community of fun, energetic and confident women has been created. All of whom inspire me everyday to wear something that makes me feel good.
There’s been new friendships formed, gorgeous confidence boosting comments written on each other’s #everydaystyle photos and the chance to catch up for a champers or two on Saturday was the icing on the #everydaystyle cake!
How’s that for a #squadgoal?! Thank you Nikki, for bringing us together x
