Welcome to another episode of Cooking With Kirsten!
There’s not a lot of cooking action happening this week thanks to a temperamental iMovie situation. So let’s have a look at some clever kitchen hacks instead.
Kirsten’s Clever Kitchen Hacks
Now in the interest of kind of making this post sound professional, I did a bit of kitchen hack research for you. Naturally I went to the most reputable and correct source I could find, Pinterest, where I created a board called Clever Kitchen Hacks.
I pinned several pins there that I thought were relevant before getting bored I’d reached my quota of roughly more than enough Clever Kitchen Hacks. Here are some of the highlights.
1. Frozen grapes keep your wine chilled without watering it down
GENIUS! How did I not know this before now?
2. Put a glass of water in the microwave when reheating pizza to prevent the crust from going chewy
Sounds good in theory but really, are we going to remember that when we’re slightly hung over and craving a few slices of leftover meatlovers? I’m thinking no.
3. How to peel an apple in 10 seconds using your drill
I know this will surprise you, but I don’t actually own a drill so completing this task could be a bit tricky for me. Although I am intrigued by the whole ‘peel your apple in 10 seconds using your drill’ concept, so I’m thinking we might need to see Guns do a demo of this one? What do you think?
4. 10 fun ways to use a cheap box of wine
I’m not going to lie. I had high hopes when I clicked on this one, but after reading semi-lame ideas such as ‘add soda water to make a spritzer’ I was extremely disappointed.
I mean there was no mention of every Uni students favourite game that requires nothing but a box of wine, a hills hoist clothesline and a couple of pegs (hello Wheel Of Goon!) or how versatile that empty bag of wine inside the box actually is once Wheel of Goon has come to a close. Blow it up and you’ve got yourself an instant pillow or decorative cushion that can last for hours!
So it’s there, on the Clever Kitchen Hacks Pinterest board, but I don’t know if it’s necessarily worth looking at.
Are you on Pinterest? Do you have a kitchen hack to share with us?
