I don’t know about you, but when it comes to putting myself at the top of the list I don’t do a great job.
I mean I have good intentions –
I will go for that walk. I will read that magazine. I will book that massage.
But then the day-to-day reality of school runs, running a skin care business, blogging commitments, the never-ending pile of laundry that needs to be done sets in.
The juggle is real, the to-do lists are long and time for myself is a distant memory.
Does any of this ring true for you too? I’m sure it probably does.
We all know that taking care of ourselves should be a priority, but actually doing it is often easier said than done.

This week in our Facebook group, Happy Healthy Beautiful You we’re chatting about self-care.
I’ve given everyone in the group a challenge – to do something that’s just for themselves this week – with the reminder that it’s ok to put ourselves at the top of the list every now and again.
I gave a brief list of ideas of what that could involve and today I’m sharing an extended version of that list here.
If you’re a bit of a Pinterest addict like I am, you might like to pin it to one of your boards.
Or you could print out the PDF version I’ve whipped up for you. Scroll down a bit for that option.
Or you could just read it and share it with your friends on Facebook. That works well too!
The options are endless. Well actually, that’s not true. There’s pretty much only three options to choose from.
But just like the list itself, that makes things very easy.
Whatever option you choose, the most important part is the final step of actually doing it.
I started last week with my sleep plan – you can read that here – and so far it’s going well. I’ll have an update for you in another week or so.
Now I’m going to focus on putting myself at the top of the list on a much more regular basis. I have a hair appointment booked in for later in the week and I’m off for a walk today. Not a bad start!
