Well Christmas Day is almost here and I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of ready for our Elf on The Shelf to head back to the North Pole.
I mean, Pixie is a lot of fun (click here to see what crazy antics she got up to when Pixie first arrived at our place!) but she’s also a lot of hard work!
I had to set an alarm on my phone to go off at 9.30pm each night, so I remember to move Pixie onto her next activity. After a few nights of elf antics, I decided to make things a bit easier for myself.
11 Easy Elf on the Shelf Ideas
So here are my 11 Easy Elf On The Shelf Ideas. They’re perfect for busy mums who would rather be sipping on a Christmas cocktail watching tv than setting up another Elf On The Shelf activity!
1. Snow Angel
It doesn’t snow here in Australia at Christmas time because it’s Summer, so I bought some snow instead! Yep, you can grab a packet of ‘snow’ from Kikki K for $4.95, sprinkle it on your bench top and you’re good to go!
2. Camouflage Elf
I bought a sticker book and some teeny tiny pre-made ribbons from my local $2 shop, put them on the floor and BAM! Pixie was one camouflaged Elf!
3. Fry Up Elf
I got out my fry pan and tongs, threw together a couple of candy canes so they looked like love hearts and sat Pixie beside the pan. Viola! One Elf having a breakfast fry up is done!
4. Sleeping Elf
Well this night I was feeling particularly tired myself and could not be bothered doing anything, let alone arranging Pixie into some sort of complicated activity! So I opened the doors to Sophie’s dolls house and placed Pixie on one of the beds. Look how comfortable she is in there!
5. Tech Savy Elf
Clever little Pixie worked out how to take a selfie on Sophie’s iPad AND set it as the wallpaper on the screen!
6. Game Night Elf
We love a good game of Guess Who in this house and what could be easier than flipping the boards over and putting Pixie at one end and a random stuffed toy at the other?!
7. Fun Loom Elf
Don’t panic. I didn’t stay up all night whipping up fun looms for this one! I found Sophie’s box of fun loom bracelets she’d already made and decorated the tree and Pixie with them. SO easy!
8. Greedy Elf
I shoved Pixie in a fancy glass jar, scribbled HELP! on a piece of paper and covered her in candy canes. Job done!
9. Party Planning Elf
Ok, so this one did take a little bit more time to set up, but it was for Sophie’s 10th Birthday, so time and effort were definitely required! First up, cheeky Pixie logged into my Pinterest account and started planning the party…
Then she put a little surprise birthday breakfast table together for Sophie to wake up to in the morning…
10. Movie Night Elf
This is possibly the easiest Elf on the Shelf idea of all. I simply grabbed Woody, Jesse & Buzz from Sophie’s toy box, set them up on the couch with a remote control, some popcorn and an empty can of coke and movie night was done!
11. Let Me Take An Elfie
This is my favourite Elf on the Shelf set up of all time. Big call, I know, but I it’s true.
I added the words ‘let me take and #elfie’ to my recently purchased light box from Typo, put my camera on the table in front of Pixie and I was done! To learn how to store Typo light box letters, read this post.
