Ever had one of those days? You know the ones I’m talking about. Where nothing goes right?
I had one yesterday and because sharing is caring, it went a little something like this:
It all started innocently enough. I was busy trying to add some more prints to The Shop when Photoshop decided it was having a bit of a go slow day. Long story short, it was taking bloody ages to save photos and just quietly, it was starting to do my head in.
FYI: These prints are now available to purchase. You can do so by clicking here. All payments will go towards industrial strength Panadol and Vodka. Jokes. Am more of a G&T type of girl!
Anyway, in between blogging, running my own online shop and kid wrangling, I do a bit of graphic design work for Scott. Just between you and me, the work he gives me is dead set boring and doesn’t float my creative boat one little bit, but as he keeps telling me, “Life can’t be all champagne and shopping.”
Actually he’s never said that, mostly because I’m fairly sure he knows he’d live to regret saying something so shocking out loud, but I’m sure he’s thought it on more than one occasion!
So while I was in the midst of trying to solve the photoshop issue, Scott rang me and said he needed a smaller version of a logo I’d designed for him last week.
“No problem!” I said. “That’s a 10 minute job. Leave it with me and you’ll have it ASAP.”
And then this happened: (I’m the blue. Scott’s the grey)
To clarify, Mary is what I call my computer (totally normal to name your appliances. And bundy should be bungy)
So approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes after making Scott “physically lol” (It’s a gift. Everyone has one) I decided there was only one solution to this ridiculous First World Problem.
Yep, I unplugged the computer from the wall, told it to get it’s shit together and left the house!
I drove to one of my favourite spots and took in this spectacular view while enjoying a delicious lunch with all of my friends….
I then took myself off for a brisk waterside walk before returning home to discover the computer had in fact got it’s shit together and was working quite smoothly.
Turns out all I needed to solve the problem was a caffeine fix with a fresh air chaser!
How about you? Ever had one of those days? Did it involve a lazy computer or something else? Do tell…
