I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted.
Today I sat at my computer ALL DAY in an attempt to finish the first 2,000 word assignment I’ve had to do since finishing my teaching degree way back in 1996. Which was actually a lot like being back at uni, only this time around I was sitting in front of a Mac instead of hand writing a draft copy before whipping over to a friend of a friends house to type it up on their new fancy pants computer that was pretty much the size of a small child and took 45 minutes to print anything out.
Remember those days? When you only knew 1 or 2 people who actually owned a computer? And you wished you had one, but knew you could never afford one because your money was better spent on other vital items like $1 drinks at Mary St every Thursday night? Same!
Anyway, so far I’ve worked on this assignment for nearly 12 hours and I’m still nowhere near finishing. I don’t know when I became such a perfectionist, but apparently I’m one now!
I’m also a whizz at random facts relating to French Post-Impressionist Painter, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, so if you’d like to know anything at all about his life, his work and how both have impacted on the contemporary design practices of today, please, ask away (cue the crickets)
In the meantime, I’m going to turn the computer off and get myself some fresh air. Or maybe I’ll channel my inner uni student and pour myself a Fire Engine instead. Which, as luck would have it, I’ve whipped up the recipe for so that you can make your own at home and join me for a cheeky cocktail or two. You’re welcome x
Fire Engine Cocktail Recipe
One nip of vodka + a top up of sprite + a dash of red cordial (all poured over ice) = a Fire Engine.
Enjoy!
