I think we can all agree that exercise is not my strong point. I mean I know I should work out and get sweaty, but honestly? I can’t be bothered.
Don’t get me wrong – I love a good stroll along the beach or a brisk (ish) walk through a park or the occasional bike ride. That sort of exercise is enjoyable and fresh air feels good, but that hardcore, intense cardio stuff that fit people like to do EVERY DAY AT 5AM before they go to work? Yeah, I’M OUT.
However, as I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed that my arms have become a bit, well saggy. I asked Guns for some work out tips on how to fix this minor problem because back in the day, before it was even a thing, Guns used to be a personal trainer.
He gave me all sorts of super boring exercises really helpful exercises which I started doing straight away completely ignored, because weights, sweat and hard work aren’t really my thing.
But something that IS my thing is problem solving. So I came up with my own arm exercises and today I’m going to share them with you – using Guns as the unsuspecting work out model. Enjoy.
Five Arm Exercises For People Who Can’t Be Bothered
1. Bringing in the groceries
Let’s face it, hauling the groceries (or shopping in general) from the car to the bench IS quite the upper body work out. I mean just look at those biceps in action would you?
Might be time I put the camera down and picked a few bags up myself. Meh. Can’t really be bothered.
2. Reaching for a wine glass
I mean you’re basically doing yoga. And again, just look at how toned those arms are. Guns has got this reaching thing sorted!
3. Opening a bottle of wine
Now you might laugh, but this one can be quite the work out – especially if you’ve had a few drinks and you try to open a screw top with a bottle opener. That can take ages to figure out AND give your arms quite the work out in the process. Or so I’ve heard.
So save yourself some time and get Guns to do it instead. Because quite frankly, I can’t be bothered.
4. Lifting a drink to your mouth
Now I know I’m placing quite an emphasis on alcohol in this week’s Friday Five, but tea totalling detoxing vegans need not feel excluded! Any sort of drink being lifted up and down will result in semi-toned arms, if you do it for long enough.
For the drinkers amongst us, I would say a 72 hour bender in Vegas is probably ample time to tone up, but you need to remember to swap drinking hands at the 36 hour mark to keep things even #alwaysthinking
And for the clean eaters amongst us, I would say a 3 day supply of kale free organic paleo approved decaf soy skim cold pressed tea or coffee should do the trick.
5. Push ups
And plenty of them. Because they are fun to watch, obvs.
