As many of you would know, Friday’s are affectionately known as #fizzyfriday around these parts (thanks to blog reader and Instagram follower, Simone, for coming up with that phrase and encouraging me to embrace it!)
Anyway, last week I was having a bit of a whinge to Scott about how much tonic water I waste on a Friday night. I crack a one litre bottle of it, have one or two G&T’s and the rest usually goes down the sink the following week, because it’s gone flat.
I’ve tried using the small bottles of tonic water, instead of the larger ones, which does work quite well and definitely reduces tonic water wastage, but it’s a much more expensive way of doing things.
So, my solution to this huge first world #fizzyfriday problem was to announce that I’m going to switch to Vodka, Lime & Sodas and buy myself a Sodastream! You know, so I can make my own soda water. GENIUS!
Scott’s response to my fabulous money saving investment went something like this:
“Aren’t Sodastreams quite pricey? You’d have to make a lot of your own soda water before you broke even BLAH BLAH BLAH*”
Ok, so he didn’t actually say those last three words, but I pretty much tuned out after he’d uttered the first bit of that sentence, so BLAH BLAH BLAH was all I heard.
Fast forward a week and I find myself at my second home (Myer) to preview their exciting new Christmas shopping concept, affectionately known as The Giftorium.
See those gorgeous, happy faces in that pic above? They’re Gifticians and they’ll do everything from helping you with your gift selections to wrapping everything for you once you’re done!
The Giftorium concept is on offer in all 67 Myer stores across Australia AND online. If you live in Brisbane, I highly recommend checking out the Giftorium in the Myer Brisbane City store. It’s on Level 4 and really is a Christmas shopping wonderland!
You can even get yourself a personalised Mr Men or Little Miss artwork from one of several pop up shops which are scattered amongst the Myer goodies! Just quietly, I was a little bit beside myself when I pulled this out of my goodie bag and saw they’d spelt my name correctly. Not a Kristen or Charmaine in sight!
Anyway, after spending a few hours browsing the very well stocked shelves of the Giftorium and chatting to the very friendly staff, it was time to head home.
As I was making my way towards the escalator, a gorgeous young staff member bowled up to me and said, “Thanks so much for coming. Please take one of these with you as our way of saying thank you! Would you like a black one or a red one?”
“Oh I would LOVE a black one, thank you so much! I literally can not wait to get home and set this up, but first, I really need to send a photo to my husband.”
WELL PLAYED MYER, WELL PLAYED!
* Thank you to Kids Business and Myer for a fantastic morning. I was given a gift bag, Sodastream and $50 Giftorium voucher for attending.
Do you have a Sodastream? Have you started Christmas shopping yet? Do you marvel at how the universe works sometimes?!
