Yesterday I woke up with a bit of a head cold. You know the drill, aching bones, a runny nose, basically just feeling a bit blah. Now if I was a health blogger, I’m guessing I would’ve sorted myself out by indulging in a gentle pilates class before heading home and sipping on a soothing ginger lemon tea, running myself a peppermint infused bath and pressing play on a relaxation CD or two.
Clearly I am not that person, because this is how I spent my day:
Head Cold Cure #1:
I started things off by putting in some serious hours on the couch, watching the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians , where Kris got her boobs out in the pool (um, eeeww), Scott tried to show Kourtney some love by buying her a new ferrari (thoughtful) and Khloe gave Kim the greatest compliment a woman can ever receive…
Mum, I know you read these posts and will want to know what a MILF is. It means a Mom I‘d Like to do a Fun run with. Or something like that. Either way, it’s probably best you don’t start telling your walking group pals that you think they’re total MILF’s.
Head Cold Cure #2:
I then channel surfed for a bit, before settling on Mornings with David and Sonia, where some random was plugging these things:
Thought about buying one, but wondered what I’d do with two of them so decided not to purchase after all. I mean, there’s only so many vodka based fruit juices you can make in a day, right?
Head Cold Cure #3:
By then it was almost lunch time, so I rolled a box of these…
and wondered why I still wasn’t feeling any better.
I thought about doing some study, but accidentally walked past the laundry and saw the mountain of clothes in the tub waiting patiently to be thrown into the washing machine, so I shut the laundry door and had a bit of a nanna nap on the couch instead.
Head Cold Cure #4:
15 minutes later, I thought I should probably get some fresh air, so I opened a window. Scott had cleaned the windows on the weekend and it was really nice to be able to look outside and see the garden and not the muck that had been on the windows, so I looked outside for a bit before deciding my aching bones were in need of another couple of nurofen and a frosty fruit chaser.
If you haven’t discovered the magic that is a Frosty Fruit yet, you need to get on board immediately. They cure anything from hangovers to head colds and are chocolate free, so they’re definitely healthy.
I then did the school run, came home, supervised homework, cooked dinner and belted out this blog post. Thought about what I’d eaten today and realised I’d had no diary or meat, so I think I might be a vegan. Or at the very least, a carb and sugar addicted vegetarian. So long story short, I’m not entirely sure I cured my head cold but I definitely learnt first hand that being a vegetarian is actually quite an easy task and requires a lot less eating of vegetables than I first thought!
