I don’t know about you, but we are big fans of the smoothie here at Kirsten and co. HQ.
Most mornings Scott, Sophie and I whiz up a protein shake (Scott), an oat & banana smoothie (Sophie) and a berry blast (me).
Bailey is also a very important member of our family, but he’s 14 and is going through the most epic growth spurt so he’s too busy carb loading with enormous bowls of cereal in the mornings to be worried about making a fruit based smoothie!
Up until a couple of weeks ago, my blender of choice was the George Foreman Mix & Go, which I’d purchased from Target last year.
But then I was sent the new George Foreman Mix & Go PRO to try and let’s just say it makes making smoothies an absolute breeze!
Featuring three speed settings, including a very clever smoothie setting (I KNOW. It’s like it was made for our smoothie loving family!), this powerful 800 watt blender makes light work of pretty much anything you throw into either the glass blending jug or the 600ml BPA free bottle, both of which are included when you purchase your very own George Foreman Mix & Go PRO.
Here’s how I make my delicious berry based smoothie at home every morning:
Step One: Put a chopped banana and a handful of frozen berries into your blender. Add any superfood powders that take your fancy (0r not. Totally up to you!) Pour in enough juice (I like to use a apple, blueberry and acaiberry juice blend that I get from the supermarket) or milk to cover the fruit and get ready to blend.
Step Two: Attach your bottle to the blender, not paying too much attention to how unattractive your smoothie is currently looking.
Step Three: Blend until, well, it’s all blended! Personally I love the Smoothie option on the Mix & go PRO because you simply push it once and it’ll do it’s smoothie blending thing while you can do a quick kitchen tidy up stand and watch it.
Step Four: Remove the bottle from the blender, whack on a lid and you’re good to go!
Or, if, like me, you like things a little bit fancy in the mornings, pour your smoothie mix into a pretty glass, top with a bit of muesli and enjoy!
The George Foreman Mix and Go PRO retails for $79.95 and was sent to me for editorial consideration as per my disclosure policy.
Are you a fan of the smoothie? What’s your favourite recipe? Do tell!
