Look, I don’t want to sound like a preachy know it all because let’s face it, I am far from knowing it all, but if there’s one thing I want my kids to learn from me, it’s to do all things with love.
You know, be a good person, think of others, live a happy life. The usual stuff.
And it’s kind of the same here on the blog.
I quite often get asked what I blog about and to be honest I never quite know how to answer that question so I always trot out the same line, “Real Housewives and cake!” which is either met with a raised eyebrow and a “um, ok then” chaser or a “Now THAT sounds like my sort of blog!”
But recently I was asked WHY I blog and that answer was easy.
The obvious answer is I love writing, but press a little harder and you’ll hear me say that I love how blogging has brought so many amazing people into my life who inspire me every day.
I love the community of readers we have here on the blog and on Facebook, Instagram etc and how we all support and encourage each other to feel good about ourselves and have the confidence to give new things a go!
But the world is full of all sorts of people and some of those people think it’s ok to turn up and say rude, hurtful things.
Being on the receiving end of hurtful words happens to all of us, whether we blog or not, and can be said to our face, behind our back, via a text or a blog comment, during a phone call or in an email.
As someone who has experienced this first hand for quite sometime now, I’m here to tell you that if those words are unprovoked, take comfort in knowing they have nothing to do with you and everything to do with the person who is saying them.
Because someone who lives a happy life has no need to hurt others with their words. Truly happy people don’t need to turn up with the intent to upset because they are full of nothing but love for themselves and those around them.
What an amazing place the world would be if we were all capable of such happiness and love x
