A while ago Sarah from Hunting For Ladybugs emailed me and asked if I’d like to be sent one of her DIY sewing kits to review on the blog. I politely replied, informing her that despite having a genuine love for all things Martha Stewart and Tonia Todman, I don’t know how to thread a sewing machine, let alone actually sew anything, so would she like to do a guest post and giveaway of her product instead?
Fortunately for all of us (and, let’s face it, the staff at my local hospital who probably would’ve had to stitch up at least one of my fingers if I had to attempt to use a sewing machine), Sarah said yes! So take it away Sarah….
Hi, I’m Sarah. My thanks to Kirsten for inviting me over to her patch. And this is my patch. I live on a farm in WA’s Wheatbelt region with my family. This is my street.
I also love to sew – every day if I can. I now have a great excuse via my online business Hunting for Ladybugs. I started sewing in high school. When I moved out here, I came across some amazing sewing blogs with photographs of beautiful fabrics stashes which I found so inspiring.
I run my business from our farm house. I’m very lucky to have a dedicated sewing room. We converted an old garage that juts off the end of our house and I absolutely love it.
My dream and goal is to now outgrow this lovely room and construct a barn like crafting retreat so I can share my world with others. I droll over the glory that is Meg Duerksen and her Kansas Craft House.
I now mainly sew to order. I’ve also recently launched a series of make at home project kits. The kits contain everything you’ll need for the project (except a sewing machine) and are all about helping you to learn how to sew remotely via your mailbox. There is also a certain freedom that comes with working your way through the instructions without anyone hovering over your shoulder.
And now for the giveaway!
