Listen up kids because there’s a new baker in town.
His name is Guns and he belts out these Kale Free Chocolate Chip Protein Bars like a man on a Christian Mid-Life Crisis. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I mean being married to a bloke that spends a fair bit of time admiring his newly planted herb garden or detailing his recently purchased sports car definitely beats some of the epic alternatives several of my girlfriends have had to endure in the past 12 months.
Seriously, what is with 40-50 being the new 18-25 with men?!
Sorry, that escalated quickly didn’t it.
Back to the Kale Free Chocolate Chip Protein Bars.
These are good. Like, seriously good.
How Good Are They?
- They’re healthy,
- they don’t take long to make – or so Guns tells me,
- the kids love them,
- they have actual sugar in them,
- they’re 100% kale free, so they work really well if like me, you’re trying to quit kale,
- you can eat them as bars or break them up and mix them up with some fruit for a delicious snack or breakfast idea.
That’s Great But How Do You Make Them?
Guns told me that he pretty much made the recipe up, which kind of confirmed the whole mid-life crisis thing.
You see prior to this baking and cooking thing that he started doing about 6 months ago, the only thing Guns could cook was scrambled eggs. And now here he is whipping up gourmet meals like Pasta with Angus Beef and baked goods from a recipe that he made up.
I don’t know about you, but it’s a mid lifer that I hope sticks around! (You can read his other mid-life crisis moments here)
