For Christmas this year I was given a couple of letter writing sets. Something I haven’t been given or used in years. I used to love writing letters back in the day. You know, before emails were invented, before interstate or overseas phone calls were reasonably priced and before texting was a thing. So when I opened not one, but two, letter writing sets, my first thought was, “Wow, they’re beautiful” which was quickly followed up by, “Nobody writes letters anymore. What the hell am I going to do with these?” Really. My thoughts are that long. But not usually that ungrateful.
This letter set I received is my fave. Image and letter set from Kikki K.
Now if, like me, you think there’s something a little bit exciting about receiving an envelope in the mail that doesn’t involve paying a bill or reading a reminder that your teeth are due for a clean then this is the blog post for you. Because after receiving two letter sets and spending a bit of time thinking about what I’ll do with them, I’ve decided to send you a letter. Yes, you. Only thing is I don’t know your address. So if you wouldn’t mind, could you flick me an email using the contact form below or leave a comment with your full name and address and my Letter Writing Challenge* will begin.
*Let’s hope at least one person participates. Could be a bit awkward if it’s just me and my letter writing sets sitting at home listening to the sound of crickets.
