Is it just me or has 2016 been one rollercoaster of a year?
A year full of epic highs and extraordinary lows. A year that most of us will probably be pleased to see the end of.
Look how far you’ve come
Yesterday we went on a walk through the Noosa National Park, to find the Fairy Rock Pools. It took 40 minutes of walking to get there. It was mostly through bush (on a path) and parts of the walk were up hill.
12 months ago I would not have been able to complete that walk. Yesterday I completed it and other than the sides of my head throbbing from time to time (an IIH side effect), I was fine!
The view from the top of the rock pool area was spectacular. Dolphins glided through the waves that surrounded us and the rock pools were beautiful.
On our way back, in between having a bit of a whinge about how far we had to walk, I thought about how far I’ve come in the last 12 months.
Yes, there have been ups and downs. And yes, I am patiently waiting for parts of this year to be well and truly done. Maybe you are too?
However, those ups and downs aren’t always a bad thing. They might seem like it at the time, but eventually a silver lining always emerges.
Celebrate your silver lining
I’m a completely different person to who I was 12 months ago. I’m less of a people pleaser and more confident in my own abilities than I ever have been. I don’t worry about what other people think of me like I used to and I’ve said goodbye to those who thrive on negativity.
As the year draws to a close, take a look back at your own journey. Push all the drama aside and look how far you’ve come. I bet it’s much further than you think and definitely worth celebrating.
