Ever wondered how to make a plate of nibbles that’s healthy, easy to prepare and one that the kids will actually eat? Well wonder no more!
Here’s how to whip one up in 4 easy steps.
Step One: Select a large platter or plate from your cupboard
Step Two: Add a couple of small bowls (we’ll fill those in a minute) and some sliced veggie sticks. I went with carrot, but cucumber and/or celery are also great choices.
Step Three: Add some fruit. My kids love watermelon and apple, so I know they’ll get eaten!
Step Four: Add some carbs to the mix.
I went with Healtheries Rice Wheels (burger flavour) and Potato Curls (chicken flavour) because the kids LOVE them and they’re a good healthy option when it comes to snacks.
Step Five: Serve outside with a couple of glasses of water. Now that the weather is warmer, I encourage the kids to eat their snacks outside because a) it usually means they’ll play outside afterwards and b) it keeps crumbs off the floors inside!
And there you have it! A quick and easy way to make a plate of healthy nibbles.
What sorts of things do your kids like to snack on? And do you encourage them to eat outside so your floors stay cleaner for at least another 30 minutes?!
This post is my third and final entry in the Kidspot Voices of 2014 Healtheries Snackosphere project. For more information on Healtheries products, please read my other two entries, which can be found here and here.
