I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty good when it comes to keeping secrets. Yep, you can tell me anything and know that your secret will be safe with me! On the flip side, I also love it when I’m finally able to share secrets with everyone because, well, how much fun is it to see people’s reactions to exciting news?!
So there’s a bit of a secret I’ve been keeping from all of you in recent months and I think it’s probably time I revealed what it is. Are you ready? Ok, here we go…
Yes, that’s me! In a magazine ad* for Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water. I KNOW. I don’t know who I am anymore either!
The ad will be appearing in all good magazines around the country the day after never and there will even be an accompanying interview in the pages that follow.
And in even more exciting news, I’ve been told I can now share snippets of the interview with you now! So sit back, relax and have a read of the interview I had with the very stunning and super professional Garnier representative last month…
*may or may not be an actual magazine ad
Welcome Kirsten. It’s great to have you on board as our Faux Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water Ambassador!
Thanks for having me! (flicks hair slightly and flashes a somewhat cheesy grin at lovely Garnier rep)
So tell me, how did you first discover this powerfully efficient, yet extremely gently cleansing water?
Well, I was first introduced to it at the Kidspot Voices of 2014 cocktail party, where I was lucky enough to receive a bottle in a goodie bag. I’ve been using it everyday since and it’s ability to remove makeup, cleanse and soothe my skin in one easy step, with no rinsing required has proved itself to be a major time saver!
Fantastic. So how exactly is the product time saving for you?
To be honest, by the time it’s time to take my make-up off at the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I just don’t have the time to be mucking around with numerous cleansing lotions and potions on my skin. Garnier’s clever bottle of Micellar Cleansing Water removes my make-up, cleanses and soothes the skin on my 41 year old borderline collapsing face in one easy step, without any need to rinse off. It’s genius!
I’m sorry, did you say ‘one easy step’? Surely not…
Um yes, I think you’ll find I did say that! All you have to do is gently wipe your face, eyes and lips with a cotton pad soaked with Micellar Cleansing Water and bam! You’re done! There’s no need for any sort of vigorous rubbing and there’s no rinsing required!
Wow! How did I not know this?
To be honest, I’m not sure. It’s a bit awkward that you don’t. But not to worry, on your way home just duck into your local supermarket or pharmacy and grab a bottle. It’ll only cost you $11.95 and one bottle will give you 200 applications!
Listen to me will you, I totally sound like Moira. Remember her? She used to be on The Bert Newton Show back in the day and had the most fabulous head of hair.
Um, sorry but I’m not sure who you’re talking about. I’m only 24.
Well that’s embarrassing. Next you’ll be telling me you don’t know who Kerry Anne Kennerley is either!
Oh I know who she is! My mum has all her records.
I think you might be thinking of Olivia Newton John?
Possibly. (laughs) Look we’d better get back on track with the interview, if that’s ok?
Of course! What else would you like to know? I’m a wealth of Micellar Cleansing Water knowledge!
You totally are! (laughs again) Ok, well to finish off, I’m guessing it would be fair to say the Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water is your number one time saving #beautysecret?
It definitely is! Although it won’t be much of a secret once the ad is out! Speaking of the ad, I reckon what you just said would make a fabulous tagline. But maybe we could put something in at the end like, make it yours too? What do you think?
I think you’re exactly right. I mean, what busy mum wouldn’t want to save time with our revolutionary formula that thoroughly cleanses the face, eyes and lips whilst gently soothing the skin’s delicate surface delivering an effortlessly refreshed and nourished complexion?
Far out! Look at you go!! I feel like you need to stop doing interviews with bloggers and start writing press releases for Garnier products. You’re bloody brilliant at it!!
(blushes) Really?! Thank you! That’s so lovely of you to say!
You’d give Moira a run for her money, that’s for sure. Google her when you get back to the office. You won’t be disappointed.
(laughs, again) Ok, I will. Hey, thanks so much for chatting with me today. It’s been a pleasure. We’re thrilled you’ve agreed to come on board as the Garnier’s Faux Ambassador for Micellar Cleansing Water!
You and me both. It’s a fantastic product and I only ever endorse products that I love, so it’s totally win win for everyone. Fingers crossed the readers love it as much as I do!
(crosses fingers and drops phone in the process) Oh for heavens sake, if I’m not spilling food down my front, I’m dropping my phone. Sorry. I was hoping to end the interview on a slightly more sophisticated note than that.
All good. Honestly, don’t worry about it. Tina Fey did exactly the same thing when I interviewed her last week.
I’m sorry. Who?
(interview ends)
So what did we all think of that? I don’t know about you, but I’m as nervous as anything about the ad coming out. I’m fairly sure Mum will be waiting out the front of her local supermarket to buy all the magazines once they hit the news stands. Which will be all sorts of embarrassing, but also quite handy, as she’ll be able to stock up on Garnier products while she’s there!
Please note: This is my entry for the Kidspot Voices of 2014 #smartbeauty Challenge. The winning post will receive $1000 cash plus a year’s supply of Garnier products. The brief was to be bold and adventurous in our review of the product. There is no ad appearing in any magazine (sorry Mum!) and there was no interview, but it was one fun post to write!
Oh and by the way, I definitely know who Tina Fey is. She’s the current face of Garnier USA who also happens to be in her 40’s and a little bit funny….
Have you got a time saving #smartbeauty secret to share?
