I don’t know about you but it’s been ages since I’ve been to the movies. My best friend Lis and I started a movie club last year, where we vowed to meet once a month at our local movie theatre and watch whatever movie had just been released. We did that once, so as far as movie clubs go, it probably wasn’t what you’d call a success!
Despite my poor attendance rate at the movies, I do have quite a few faves, which in no particular order go a little something like this:
1. Four Weddings And A Funeral. Brilliant from start to finish. Also the first five minutes were considered very racy back in 1996.
2. Pitch Perfect. Acca-xcuse me, but how hilarious is Fat Amy?!
3. Dirty Dancing. Did anyone else desperately want *that* dance as their wedding dance, but couldn’t figure out how the hell to do the lift bit without causing their husband a permanent spinal injury? Yeah, me neither.
4. Bridesmaids. Funny and a great reminder to perhaps avoid the meat buffet before trying on wedding dresses.
5. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I had hair just like his sister and secretly wanted a white cropped fringed leather jacket like his girlfriend’s. Clearly the 80’s were not a decade of good taste!
6. Back To The Future. I could not WAIT for 2015 to get here. Imagine being able to zip around on a hover board!!
7. Anything with Tom Cruise in it. I know, I know, he’s a bit weird in real life, but on screen he’s a bit hot.
8. Annie. The original. Sing it with me peeps! “The sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow…there’ll be sun!”
9. Oceans 11. The remake, obvs. Also on a totally random side note, you know the music that’s played as they all walk away from the fountains at The Bellagio? I can play that on the piano.
10. Magic Mike. Visually spectacular and best watched without volume.
Ok, now it’s your turn! What are your top 10 favourite movies of all time?
