This post is brought to you by DFO Brisbane.
If you follow me over on Instagram, you’ll be familiar with the pictures I’ve posted of delicious Nutella Scrolls. Today I whipped up another batch, using some lovely new baking supplies I picked up at Corningware Corelle and Pyrex during a recent visit to DFO Brisbane.
Nutella Scrolls {Ingredients}
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Nutella Scrolls at home…
2.5 cups plain flour, 1.5 teaspoons yeast, 1/2 teaspoon and 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk, 3 tablespoons butter (melted) PLUS 1/2 cup of Nutella for the filling
Nutella Scrolls {Method}
Preheat your oven to 180 deg C
In a glass measuring cup, combine milk, yeast and 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Allow yeast to proof for 5-10 minutes.
In the bowl of a mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, add the flour, remaining sugar, egg and melted butter. With mixer on low, slowly add the yeast mixture, increasing the speed as needed, mixing until the dough pulls together as shown below….
Cover the bowl and allow to rise until doubled in size, which will take roughly 1 hour.
Flour your bench and roll out the dough into a rectangle
Spread the Nutella over the dough mixture using a spatula
Tightly roll up the dough, starting at one of the shorter ends.
Slice into 2cm wide pieces and transfer to your baking dish. Allow rolls to rise for an additional 15 minutes before placing in the oven and baking for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving with a large dollop of cream or scoop of ice-cream.
Please note. a printable version of this delicious recipe for Nutella Scrolls can be found at the bottom of this post.
Now because life can’t always be about carbs, sugar and making things from scratch (I know. I wish it could be too), I picked up one of these amazingly clever little gadgets from The General Trader.
Without requiring any electricity at all, it whips up delicious, healthy ice blocks in 7 minutes. Not.Even.Kidding. All you have to do is keep it in the freezer and place it on the bench whenever you feel like an ice block. It’s so easy to use that Sophie did the whole thing by herself. Look, here’s a visual….
Simply pour your desired liquid into each of the compartments (we used organic fruit juice) and wait for it to freeze, which honestly only did take 7 minutes (I may or may not have timed it.) Remove from the compartment and enjoy!
