Yesterday Scott and I were driving back from the Gold Coast when we hit a bit of a traffic jam. Sitting in front of us was a limo, which isn’t a particularly unusual sight on the GC.
We thought nothing of it until a person in the car beside the limo started waving furiously at the limo and taking photos on her phone.
“Must be someone famous in there” I said to Scott.
“Probably Barrack Obama” was his witty reply (G20 is about to hit Brisbane this week and we’d just seen 4,372* blacked out Escalades sitting in the car park of Sanctuary Cove as that’s where some of the delegates are staying. I wanted to take a photo of the Escalade entourage but wasn’t keen on getting arrested, so put my phone down and just looked with my eyes. I KNOW. It might as well have been 1982)
*may or may not be the exact number
But back to the limo story.
As Scott was trotting out his Barrack Obama line, the window of the limo started to wind down and whoever was in there waved back at the chick in the car, all while holding a microphone.
“OMG” I almost shouted “That would HAVE to be Katy Perry. She’s touring at the moment.”
“Or Mariah Carey. Isn’t she playing at a Day On The Green this weekend?” replied my alarmingly-up-to-date-with-all-things-celebrity husband.
“Hang on, I’ll google it.
Nope, it’s not Katy Perry. She’s not here until later this month.
Bugger, it’s not Mariah Carey either. Her concert isn’t until next week.
Oh FFS. It’s Jimmy Barnes.”
Ever almost met someone famous? And taken a photo of the car you thought they were travelling in, or is that just me?!
