So remember how last week I was banging on about having tight pants? Well I’ve decided to do something about it! Nothing too drastic, just a few new habits from now until Christmas, which hopefully will result in loose pants….just in time of the festive season, where no doubt those pesky pants will become tight once more!
I’m kicking off Operation Loose Pants this week and was wondering if you might like to join me?
It’s not a diet or a 12 week challenge. I’m no fitness expert (Obviously. Otherwise I wouldn’t be facing this tight pant situation!) and I’m definitely no dietition (please refer to my recipe page for confirmation that my love of all things baked is no doubt contributing to my problem) I’m just an old bird with tight pants who, quite frankly, is a bit over all things calorie reducing and gym flogging!
So this week, my new habit is to do some exercise 3 times a week, for 30 minutes at a time. I’m going to go for 3 brisk walks, but you might like to go for a run, chase the kids in the backyard for half and hour, play some sort of group sport, join Charmaine at the gym or if you’re really keen, maybe take a hot yoga class.
I’ve made us a little checklist, that we can all print out and whack on our fridge. Mainly so we can tick off each time we do some exercise, but also to remind us that the fridge is not meant to be a form of entertainment when we’re bored/lonely/sad/happy/whatevs. Look, here’s a teeny tiny visual:
You can download the full A4 sized checklist by clicking on this link: Operation Loose Pants Checklist
I’ve even come up with a hashtag: #operationloosepants which you can use if you want to take photos of your exercise in action over on Instagram and I thought we could meet back here every Monday for a new habit*, a new checklist and a bit of a chat about our week of Operation Loose Pants. What do you think?
Operation Loose Pants. Are you in?
* FYI: I was introduced to the concept of developing new habits, as opposed to trying to break bad habits when I purchased and read Your Best Year Yet by Kelly Exeter. It’s a great, quick read that has definitely inspired me to rethink my approach to all sorts of things, with tight pants being the current priority!
