On Saturday we celebrated Sophie’s 8th Birthday with a Rock Star Birthday Party and today I thought I’d share some of my Rock Star themed birthday party ideas with you.
Firstly, let’s discuss the backdrop. I was going to go hard with a backdrop of streamers but the streamers I purchased online absolutely stunk. Stunk I tell you. I don’t know where they were packaged, but I’d suggest the streamer factory also manufactures frozen fish because every packet of streamers had an appalling waft of seafood coming from them. Eeeewww.
So, I had to scrap that plan and think of something else. And think of it quickly. I had a $2 packet of hot pink bowls in my hand while I was thinking, took one look at them and thought “I wonder if I could whip up a star using these.” Turns out I could.
The Party Table and Activities:
I went for a bright, fun colour scheme and had a lot of fun selecting various rock star themed items from my local Kmart store for the party table!
Sophie and her friends helped themselves to the sunglasses, slap bands, bracelets, necklaces and nail polishes throughout the party (there were also tinsel wigs underneath the table) and we had a fun photo shot of the girls all dressed up in their rock star accessories.
Party Favours:
Each of the girls received one of these bags to put all of their rock star accessories in (and then take home.) I made the labels using sticker sheets, attached ribbon to the handles and the Rock Star Birthday Party Favour Bags were done!
Rock Star Birthday Party Red Carpet:
Every Rock star party needs a red carpet! I got it from the same place that sold me the dodgy smelling streamers for $19. The inflatable microphone and guitar were from the local cheapie shop for $4 each.
Sophie and her friends had such a great time dancing up and down the red carpet. Honestly, it kept them entertained for hours and it was the best $19 I think I’ve ever spent!
Rock Star Birthday Cake:
I made the cake (it was a chocolate and vanilla marble cake with hot pink icing) and arranged it on a table with lollies on one side and marshmallows on the other. Very easy to do and the girls loved being able to help themselves to the lollies throughout the afternoon!
