Remember the kimono I wore a few week’s back and raved about because of it’s short length? (click here if you’re not sure what I’m banging on about)
Well I’ve been on the hunt for a longer line kimono for ages. You know, one that’s flattering and not so full of fabric that you look like a parachute?! I’m pleased to report that I’ve found one!
It’s the Smoke & Mirrors Shirt from 17 Sundays, which, in the words of the 17 Sundays website is ‘a move on from the very popular kimono shape.’
As the name suggests, it’s more of a shirt than a kimono, with full length sleeves (which I’ve rolled up) and a hi-lo hem.
I’m a big fan of a hi-lo hem, because the longer hem at the back gives great butt coverage, while the shortened hem at the front is very flattering on those of us who sadly haven’t been blessed with super model height.
I’ve teamed my newly purchased kimono with a white singlet top from Sussan and my favourite boyfriend jeans for a more casual look, but I think it would work really well over a body con style dress too.
So are you ready to go shopping with Kirsten? Great! Let’s go…
Smoke and Mirrors Shirt: Available online from 17 Sundays ($129.95) It’s also stocked in selected Myer stores around Australia, which is where I purchased mine from (at 40% off, I might add!) I’m wearing a size 14.
Perfect Tank: Purchased from Sussan last year, but still available ($19.95) I’m wearing a Large.
Boyfriend Jeans: Purchased from Autograph. I’m wearing size 14. (currently sold out online, but might be available in store. FYI: Autograph currently have 50% off everything online and in store. You’re welcome!)
Have you embraced the kimono this year? I’d love to know where you got yours from!
