I don’t know about you, but I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a jumpsuit for ages. I’ve tried quite a few on over the past few months, with very little success, however a few weeks ago I struck jumpsuit gold when I tried this one on at Autograph:
Autograph Wrapover Jumpsuit, $89.99
I tried on the size 14 and while it was a bit too big in the top (nothing a bit of alteration work couldn’t fix), the length was perfect and it was really comfortable, so it was SOLD! Thank you very much.
If you follow me over on Instagram or Facebook, you’ll know that I wore it to the Kidspot Voices of 2014 Gala Awards in Melbourne on Saturday night. I went with my blogging mate, Bec, AKA The Plumbette and her husband kindly took a couple of pics of us before the big event, so here’s what the jumpsuit looked like on:
Bec and I cracked up when we saw each other in the hotel reception area as we were both wearing jumpsuits (Bec’s is from Millers and is no longer on their shelves, but they’ve got other styles still available) and we joked that our matchy matchy outfits would make a hilarious ‘Bec Stole My Look…Or Did I Steal Hers?’ blog post!
I teamed my jumpsuit with a black cropped bolero (also available from Autograph), while Bec’s gorgeous sequinned number is from Maggie T.
Bec had her makeup done at the Benefit counter at Myer and wore her hair down, while I did my own makeup and had a hairdresser at the Aveda salon in David Jones work her magic on my curly locks.
I asked for a simple ponytail, but the hairdresser was keen to do something a bit fancier, so I left things in her capable hands and this was the end result:
Fortunately it looked MUCH better than last week’s disastrous visit to the hairdresser!
Once our photos were taken, we jumped in a cab and headed to the Kidspot Voices of 2014 Gala Awards, where we hung out with some amazing bloggers:
and even managed to win a couple of prizes for posts we’d written!

winners are grinners!
After a solid 5 hours of wearing the jumpsuit, I can confirm that it was the most comfortable cocktail outfit I’ve ever worn.
However, the downside to wearing a jumpsuit to an event where the champagne is flowing, is having to origami yourself out of the damn thing every time you need to visit the bathroom!
What are your thoughts on the jumpsuit craze? Do you own one? Bec and I would love to know!
