“The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award recognizes the unique voices of women bloggers around the world.”
My blogging mate, the hilarious Miss Chardy, (remember her? She stalked Pam a couple of weeks ago. If you missed it, you can read all about it in this post) has given me a Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.
Sadly it doesn’t come with a shiny trophy (I know you will find this hard to believe, given how sporty I am (ha!) but I’ve never won a trophy) but it does come with 10 quick questions to answer, so here we go!
1. Best hotel you have ever stayed in? Tell us about it please.
I can’t remember the name of it, but it was in Dubai. It was attached to the huge shopping mall there (the one that has the indoor ski field) and they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite for no reason, which was very kind of them. It was the fanciest hotel I’ve ever stayed in and there’s something very convenient about staying in a fancy hotel that’s attached to an even fancier shopping mall!
2. What is your favourite movie?
I’ve got a few and they’re all in this post, creatively titled My Top 10 Favourite Movies Of All Time. Dirty Dancing, Pitch Perfect, Annie, Magic Mike are all in there, so it’s quite the mix, although I do need to add The Hangover to the list too. That movie was all sorts of funny.
3. Read any good books lately?
I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t. I started to read one a couple of months ago and got 10 pages in before putting it down and not picking it back up again. Reading blogs and scrolling through my phone seem to take up all of my reading time at the moment.
4. What about Podcasts….. are you into Podcasts? Do you have any new suggestions for us?
I haven’t got into Podcasts at all, which now that I think about it is making me sound like I’m 97. But when I was at Problogger a couple of weeks ago, I did suggest to Rachel from Our Town Brisbane that we should do a podcast together.
That was based purely on one borderline funny conversation we had about figs and neither of us have any idea on how to actually go about doing a podcast, so I’m sure if we ever get our act together and do one, it will be a raging success!
5. Where did you get married?
At an Anglican Church at the bottom of Mt Tamborine on the Gold Coast, 7 September 1997. Yep, it’s our 18th wedding anniversary next week. Time flies when you’re having fun!
6. Do the words “How’s the Serenity” and “Get your hand off it Darryl” resonate with you? If they don’t I’m not sure we can be friends, ha ha ha.
“What do you call these Darl?” “Tell him he’s dreaming!” “That’ll go straight to the pool room!”
I think we can still be friends.
7. Favourite song from the 80’s or 90’s?
That’s a tough one! Guns has the 80’s and 90’s on high rotation on his portable speaker system at home so at any given moment you’ll hear anything from Salt and Pepper to Guns and Roses blasting from wherever he is. I can confirm that his favourite 80’s song is Don’t Need Nothing But A Good Time by Poison and his favourite 90’s song is Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer.
8. Favourite meal?
Anything that a) I don’t have to cook and b) isn’t served on a plastic tray
9. Where did you grow up?
Christchurch, New Zealand. Where there were more sheep than people and sux suxes are thurty sux.
10. Are you a perfect parent or a total psycho?
Um, I think I’m probably somewhere in the middle? Although my children have NEVER had a tantrum in public, have exceptional manners that they use ALL THE TIME, get straight A’s in EVERY SUBJECT and have the whitest teeth you’ve ever seen* so perhaps I’ll go with perfect parent. Please pass me my halo and bottle of vegan paleo organic wine. Thank you 😉
*none of these things are actually true
Ok, so now it’s my turn to pass this award onto 10 blogs that I love to read. Here they are:
And here are my 10 questions for you all:
- Are you a Summer or a Winter person?
- What was the last thing that you bought?
- Who does the ironing at your place?
- What’s your favourite movie of all time?
- Are you going to see Oprah in December?
- Have you ever eaten a fig?
- What is your middle name?
- Have you ever met anyone famous?
- Sweet or Savoury?
- Are you pleased these questions are finished?
Thanks Miss Chardy for passing the blogging baton over to me. I’m looking forward to reading the answers of the very deep and meaningful questions I’ve provided for the 10 bloggers I’ve passed the award on to!
Which blogs do you like to read? Have you eaten a fig? How do you feel about podcasts? Could this blog post be any more random?!
