Today I’ve got the gorgeous Lauren from the blog Sand Castles and Paper Crowns joining us with some simple style tips for new mums.
Lauren is a Mum to a beautiful 4 month old baby girl and lives a sparkly, happy life in the suburbs of Brisbane, where she blogs about her love of fashion, shopping, beauty and design. Take it away Lauren!
Since my beautiful daughter entered our life my world has been turned upside down in the most amazing and sometimes confronting way.
My image and identity have undergone a huge overhaul since becoming a Mummy and I couldn’t be happier with the new me.
My style has evolved from chic city office wear to casual mummy chic and I am embracing my new identity and enjoying the changes. Gone are the silky blouses and pretty frocks and in are the casual cotton frocks, leather leggings and a more neutral and easily co-ordinated wardrobe.
Here Are My Top Style Tips For New Mums:
1. Buy pieces that are easily laundered and that wash and wear well (babies drool, womit and poop on you regularly!)
2. Embrace a colour palette that co-ordinates easily, so you can mix and match pieces with ease. This will help enormously when you are trying to throw together a chic outfit whilst holding a baby!
3. Longer line dresses & skirts, jeans and shorts are both practical and comfortable and think about wearing leggings and camisoles under clothes.
4. Invest in comfortable and supportive underwear, this helps give you a clean line and will make you feel more supported and sexy.
5. Accessorise! Add scarfs, teething beads and necklaces, fun sandals and flats, hats and bangles to update your look.
Are you a new mum? Got a style tip you’d like to share? We’d love to read it!
