So yesterday Scott and the kids decided it would be a good idea to have breakfast at IHOP. I decided to tag along because I thought it would make a good blog post. Turns out I was right.
For those not in the know, IHOP stands for International House Of Pancakes and is a well known breakfast chain in the USA.
Upon arriving at IHOP we opened the door and were greeted with quite the waft of maple syrup, which was something none of us had ever had experienced before.
We were quickly ushered to a table (excellent service) where we were given approximately 30.9 seconds to peruse the 8 page laminated menu (again, excellent service).
Sophie choose the chocolate chip smiley face pancake from the kids menu, which, if I’m honest, looked a little bit drunk:
Bailey and Scott went with the traditional tall stack buttermilk pancakes, which they both confirmed were delicious.
I wasn’t feeling very hungry, so I ordered a small cinnamon roll:
Honestly, my teeth were aching just looking at all that sugar sitting in front of me! I scrapped the faux cream, the brown stuff and the white stuff off (I don’t even know what it was…icing of some description, I think?) and ate one piece of the roll, which was actually quite tasty.
There are also a variety of syrups you can pour over your IHOP pancakes, including strawberry, butter pecan, blueberry or old fashioned.
The bill came in at $51 (plus tip), Bailey was the only one who could finish his meal, Sophie thought the restaurant could do with a live band, Scott was disappointed the Strawberry syrup didn’t have any real strawberries in it and I felt we could all do with getting a quick cholesterol check on our way out the door!
Have you ever been to an IHOP? What did you order?
