So last week I was at Mum and Dad’s when Mum remembered that she had something for me.
“Oh!” she said, as I was mid-sentence about something obviously not very important or interesting, “I’ve just remembered I’ve got something for you” before disappearing into the pantry.
This will be good, I thought to myself, as basically Pam’s pantry is a large room full of all sorts of items that never get used.
Right on cue, Pam emerges from the pantry with the biggest bottle of gin I’ve ever seen.
“I’ve noticed on your Instagram photos that you enjoy a G&T every now and again. I’m not a fan of gin and I’ve had this bottle sitting in the pantry which I keep forgetting to give to you” Pam announces, before plonking the 2 litre bottle of booze on the bench.
“Thanks Mum! But I’m not sure it’s big enough” was my witty and appreciative reply.
“Well don’t get too excited. It’s not a full bottle. Even though I’m not really a gin lover, I’ve made myself a couple of G&T’s with it, but there’s plenty left for you” says Mum, as she turns the bottle around to show me.
And just how much is left in that two litre bottle of Gin that Pam doesn’t really like all that much? I hear you ask.
As luck would have it I took a photo, which I’m fairly sure will result in some fairly swift texting from Pam approximately 0.3 seconds after she reads this post…
Thanks Pam! I will really enjoy the 1.5 standard drinks I’ll be able to make with what’s left in the 2 litre bottle of Gin that you’re not all that fond of!!
Is your Mum a fan of gin? Or, like mine, does she prefer something else?!
