Welcome to another instalment of The Week That Was: School Holiday Edition! Grab yourself a cuppa and settle in for a bit of an insight into what’s been happening at our place this week.
Monday the kids and I hit the shops. And dropped a not so lazy 300 on school shoes. Seriously. You’d think they were lined with gold, but no, they’re just good old Clarks.
Tuesday was spent recovering from my chest tightening shopping trip the day before, while Sophie baked and Bailey had a friend over. At least I think he did. I didn’t see either of them for most of the day, as they were both locked in a Pokemon war with each other (whatever that means) and spent most of the day upstairs, staring at their ipods and not talking to each other. If nothing else, 11 is a very low maintenance age!
Wednesday rocked around and Mum asked if she could have the kids for the day/night. Um, that would be a Big Fat Yes!
So I dropped the kids off at my parent’s house, where no doubt they spent the day eating their body weight in chocolate, ice cream and soft drink (the kids, not my parents.) Scott & I had took advantage of the kid free night and headed into South Bank for dinner.
While we enjoyed our delicious dinner at new French restaurant, Aquitaine (I had Pork Belly. Scott had steak) there were lots of freakishly healthy people zooming past our table on bikes or on foot. The irony of their dedication to fitness while I was inhaling a deliciously high calorie meal was not lost on me and for a fleeting moment I wondered whether I too should start some sort of running/jogging regime. But then I remembered one of my favourite posters from pinterest and ordered another cocktail instead….
Thursday I did what I do best. Hit the shops. And spent the entire day there. Say what you will about me, but I don’t do things by halves. That being said, I seemed to spent the day wandering rather aimlessly from shop and shop and made a number of very random purchases…
A pie dish, on sale for 10 bucks.
El cheapo earrings from Colette.
And cute little notes from Typo to whack in Sophie’s lunchbox each day. Like I said, random!
Friday, today, will be spent at home. We’ve got a very quiet day ahead before the weekend hits. Which will involve me driving the kids to their vast array of social appointments. So far we’ve got two birthday parties and a day at a mates house locked in. Not sure how I feel about the 8 and 11 year old having a better social life than their mother!
How has your week been? Doing anything exciting over the weekend? Tell me everything!
