Welcome to the first edition of What I Wore.
It’s a new series to the blog, where I thought I’d do a quick round-up of The Week That Was, featuring what I wore for the week. I’ll share the links to where you can find the clothing items I’ve worn (or similar clothing items as not everything I wear is current season) and throw a couple of random stories in there for you too.
Some weeks it will probably be dead set boring (hey look! Here I am wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt AGAIN! #snorefest) Other weeks you might find something you like the look of and purchase it for yourself #amashoppingenabler
Either way, if you’ve got any questions or outfit requests, don’t hesitate to get in touch! You can email me or message me via Facebook or Instagram.
Sunday
Wore a fitted black v-neck t-shirt I picked up at Target in the USA a couple of years ago.
Teamed it with a pair of very comfortable shorts I bought from Rockmans last year. (Hello stretchy denim elastane! So nice to meet you.)
This particular style is no longer available, but you can find several similar styles here: Rockmans Ladies Shorts (they’re currently on sale too – $27.99!)
Monday
The stupid old Epipolic Appendigitis or alskdhfjashkdjfh as we prefer to call it around here, reared its ugly head again, so Monday was a very quiet day at home. It was a pity party for one on the couch. No outfit photo was taken.
Tuesday
Melbourne Cup day! AKA The Race That Stops The Nation. And one that forced me to pain-killer it up, slap on a fascinator bigger than my actual head and join some fabulous friends for lunch.
I borrowed the gorgeous hot pink fascinator from my sister-in-law and pulled the lace peplum top, white skirt and black peep toes from the dark depths of my wardrobe.
Both the top and skirt are from Myer (basque brand) I have no idea where the shoes are from as they’re so old, the name has worn off inside.
The handbag is Louis Vuitton and was a gift from Pam and Errol on my 40th birthday.
Wednesday
Another day at home on the couch. Didn’t take a photo but if you can imagine me wearing a pair of shorts, a baggy old t-shirt that I dropped a slice of tomato on, no makeup and hair pulled back into a pony tail, I think you can probably understand why.
Thursday
Headed to SFH Designs with my mate Michele to check out the SFH Designs studio. Look at all that gorgeous colour!
What I Wore:
SFH Designs Donatella Cape $135
Country Road scoop neck tank Size L $29.95
Katies jeans Size 14 No longer available but there’s plenty of other very comfortable and flattering styles to choose from here: Women’s Denim – KATIES*
Friday
I may have indulged in a little retail therapy at Westfield Carindale. Didn’t take a photo of my outfit, but did take a photo of these gorgeous things that came home with me:
Hot pink espadrilles for Summer? It’s a YES from me!
They’re from Wittner Shoes and are the Emma Spicy Fuchsia Suede Espadrille, $99.95 (several other colours also available)
Saturday
Woke up Saturday morning in quite a panic as I was greeted with this sight outside:
I mean for a start, why were the cushions not on the chairs? And why was Guns standing still? But perhaps more importantly, WHY WAS HE WEARING A SHIRT?!
Turns out some random was on a bobcat to my right (not in shot) He was hard at work ‘clearing the site’ (whatever that means) so that Guns could start building a deck.
Long story short, the cushions were back on the chairs (Guns took them off so they wouldn’t get dirty #thoughtful) and his shirt was off approximately 2.5 hours after this photo was taken (I know. It took longer than I thought it would too #annoying)
I had a busy day of taking instagram photos and drinking coffee of blog writing and taking the kids to their various social activities, so comfort was key in yesterday’s outfit.
What I Wore:
Ruby & Lilli XO T-shirt Size M $45 currently on sale for $36
Katies Canvas Pocket Detail Shorts* in black. Size 14 $39.95 currently on sale for $19.95
Sophie took the photo for me who said she was “trying to do the rule of thirds thing” that she learnt at the Fat Mum Slim lunch a few months back. Just quietly, I think she nailed it!
And that my friends, is another week done and dusted.
What’s the deal with the weeks flying by so quickly this year? And how do you get to be 42 and STILL spill food down the front of your shirt? Done anything exciting this week? Tell me all the things!
