So last weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Kidspot Voices of 2014 Masterclass and Launch Party in Sydney. I know. I’m still pinching myself too.
The day kicked off with a fabulous blogging Masterclass at The School , where I found myself sitting next to the gorgeous and very friendly Sonia Styling.
There were three fabulous sessions on offer, all of which were extremely inspiring.
Listening to bloggers such as The Organised Housewife talking about Finessing Facebook, BabyMac filling us in on (Over)sharing on Social Media and Cook Republic providing us with Inspiration in Innovation was just a little bit mind-blowing.
Needless to say, my Kidspot Voices of 2014 notebook and pen got a fast and furious workout in the 3 hours spent at The Masterclass.
We then jumped on a bus that took us back to our hotel.
And because in the blogging world it’s not at all weird to organise getting in a cab with total strangers, Little Wolff, Elements at Home, Always Josefa and I decided to meet in the hotel lobby at 6.30pm and head to the Kidspot Voices of 2014 Launch Party together….
It was an amazing night in a beautiful venue filled with so many incredible bloggers.
I was beyond thrilled to see my blog in amongst such fine company in the Top 30 Personal and Parenting category…..
After the speeches were over and the drinks were flowing, I took it upon myself to stalk Mrs Woog say hi to Mrs Woog.
I’d already had a brief conversation at the Masterclass with Mrs Woog, where we chatted about the very important subject of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. So over I went to say hello, because if nothing else, The Real Housewives of Melbourne this blogging caper excels at bringing people together.
We chatted for a bit and despite making myself look like a flustered school girl meeting a One Direction band member for the first time, Mrs Woog didn’t bat an eyelid when I asked if I could get a photo with her…
This one’s going straight to the pool room. Or on a t-shirt. Either way, not weird AT ALL.
I also met the delightful Kimba Likes, who may or may not have asked if my hair was a perm – for the record, it’s not – and tried – fairly unsuccessfully – to not stare stalker style at the beautiful iCurvy. Her skin is flawless people, flawless!
When the party finished at 9.30pm I met up with Scott. He was killing time outside by chatting to another Blogging Widower husband of a blogger.
We decided to go for a post-cocktail party drink, where I told him all about the expert blogging advice Mrs Woog had given me. He listened to every word very carefully before telling me that Mrs Woog was indeed the smartest, wisest blogger he’d ever heard of and that he needed to find her and buy her a drink ASAP!
So what exactly was that expert advice that managed to get Scott, a total non-blogger, all worked up? I hear you all ask.
Well get your pen and paper out people, because it was this….
“Really, everyone just needs to root more. You should text your husband now and tell him to go back to the hotel, take all his clothes off and wait for you to get there.”
And that my friends, was The Weekend That Was: Kidspot Voices of 2014 Edition. Quite possibly one of the best weekends of my blogging life xox
Thank you to the amazing Kidspot team for organising the Masterclass and Launch Party. It was so well organised from start to finish and an absolute thrill to be a part of.
