There’s a beautiful story that I loved reading to both my children and my class back in the day. It’s called We’re Going On A Bear Hunt, by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.
It’s also a song/rhyme and if you’ve ever been around young children, you’re probably familiar with it.
Kids love it because the language used is very descriptive and dramatic. The storyline is full of adventure and who knows what they’ll stumble across next!
I love it because the repetitive theme is,
We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
We’ve got to go through it.
everyone has something
At some point in our lives we’ll all be faced with something life changing, for everyone has something.
Something they’re battling, hiding, denying.
How we handle the challenges that are put in front of us is such an individual thing.
But we can’t go over it. We can’t go under it. We’ve got to go through it.
the silver lining
Get yourself through whatever your something is and eventually the silver lining will show up.
Sometimes it takes a long time to find, but the good is always there in every not so good situation.
At least that’s what I believe. It’s also what I told myself when I had no choice but to get through this IIH thing I’ve got.
If you had’ve told me two years ago when I was first diagnosed that the silver lining would present itself in the form of an all natural skin care line. Well, let’s just say I might’ve asked if you were off your chops drunk feeling ok.
Yet here we are.
SKIN BOSS Australia has launched and I’ve finally realised at the ripe old age of 44, that I’m actually quite a determined person.
Except when it comes to cardio.
There isn’t any book in the world – children’s or otherwise – that could inspire me to do more of that!
