As you all know I love to shop and share new products and bargains with you.
Lately I haven’t done much shopping (shocking, I know) but you’ll be relieved to know I’ve got my shopping mojo back (hooray!) and today we’re going to find out what’s been going down in retail town.
So put on your sensible shoes, grab your handbag and make sure your credit card is at the ready because you and I have some shopping to do. Let’s go!
1: The Desk Accessories
First up, we’re going to head to Pillowtalk for some gorgeous pastel vases. The large Sundown Vases are $24.95 and the smaller Dusk Vases are $9.95. They look pretty without flowers and make the perfect addition to my desk arrangement, don’t you think?
The gold tumbler holding the pencils is from Target. It’s actually a toothbrush holder, so you’ll find it in the bathroom section. It’ll set you back $10 and nobody needs to know it’s not an actual stationery item.
You can find the gorgeous pencils over at Amanda Catherine Designs. They’re US$12 for a set of 6 and are called ‘Gentle Reminders’ because they have gorgeous little sayings printed in gold on the end of each one (be stylish, be silly, be charming, be smart, be kind, be fabulous)
Oh and don’t forget to visit my shop for all of your print needs. The Say Yes To New Adventures in the background there is one of the most popular prints in The Shop and at AU$20 including postage, you’d be mad not to order one for yourself toot sweet!
2: The Faux Flowers
If you’re an interior designer or a lover of all things fresh and floral, you might like to avert your eyes because next up we’re off to Kmart for a bunch of faux flowers.
At $3 a stem, these beauties will keep your vases looking pretty when you’re all out of fresh flowers.
Nobody needs to know they’re not real (unless of course you have a blog, in which case, Hi, My Name Is Kirsten and I Buy Fake Flowers) just make sure you dust them regularly (is it just me or does that sound SO Kath and Kim?!) and don’t have them on display if ever a judge from The Block should call in for a cuppa.
3. The Weekend Away
Let’s take a minute to discuss the weekend away. When was the last time you had one?
If ever you’re considering a weekend away on the Gold Coast, I highly recommend this place:
It’s the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa Gold Coast and it is all sorts of fabulous.
I’ve wanted to stay here since forever and a couple of weekends ago, Scott and I finally did. It’s a stunning beachfront resort with a beautiful boardwalk and lagoon that meanders through the entire resort.
The staff were all very friendly, the room we booked had a lovely view of the lagoon and garden and it was great to be able to walk straight out of the resort and onto the beach.
4. The New Rug
I was lucky enough to win a gorgeous Dash & Albert rug from Winton House in a competition run by Mum Little Loves.
It arrived yesterday and I think it has finished off this little corner of our home perfectly. What do you think?
For those who like details, it’s the Trimaran Light Blue Indoor Outdoor Rug by Dash & Albert, 60 x 90 cm. The chair is from European Design, the blue and white stool (which I’m using as a side table) is from Early Settler and the white dipped basket is from Freedom.
And that’s what’s going down in retail town this week!
