Last week I ducked into the chemist to pick up a few last-minute supplies for our trip (hello Aqua Ear!) when I noticed a rather large bottle of Red Door perfume sitting in amongst various other bottles of heavily reduced fragrances. It was marked down to $20, which if I’m honest, was probably $19.95 too much!
I wanted to get a photo of it but the lady working the fragrance table was guarding that area like it was the Mona Lisa so I made a mental note to tell you all about Pam’s addiction to Red Door perfume back in the late 80’s/early 90’s and continued my search for the Aqua Ear (FYI: It was behind the counter and set me back $11.95)
So growing up, Pam (for those of you who are new around these parts, firstly, welcome! And secondly, Pam is my Mum) used to go so hard with the good old Red Door that I’m fairly sure I have permanent damage to my nasal passages.
Not that I can really judge as back then my signature scent was Sunflowers, which you can now pick up at your local chemist for around the 10 buck mark!
Fortunately for all concerned (and those who live with us) both Pam and I have moved on from the Red Door/Sunflower phase and now both endorse all things Chanel. Pam is strictly a Chanel Number 5 girl, while I stick to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
I reckon if our good friend Charmaine had a signature scent it would be White Musk from The Body Shop or maybe a celebrity fragrance like one by Katy Perry or Lady Gaga? What do you think?
How about you? What’s your signature scent? Red Door or something else? Do tell!
